MOVE currently runs a Diabetic and Medical Center (MOVE DMC) with the objective of providing high-quality testing and treatment for diabetes and related diseases as well as general healthcare services to low-income families at significantly discounted prices.<\/p>

Program Highlights<\/strong>
\u2022 Over 137,000 patients treated since 2008.
\u2022 Published prices are at a 40 to 45% discount to market prices on similar services.
\u2022 Numerous free sugar and medical camps set up at various locations since 2008.
\u2022 Since 2008, over 137,000 patients have been treated at the MOVE DMC.<\/p>

The objectives of the MOVE DMC are:<\/strong>
\u2022 To provide good-quality healthcare services at affordable prices to low-income families.
\u2022 To concentrate on encouraging a culture of preventive healthcare and early diagnosis and treatment by setting up free medical camps and satellite Collection Centres in under-privileged communities, which will bring healthcare services to the doorstep of the poor.
\u2022 To reduce unemployment by providing jobs to trained doctors, lab technicians, nurses, and others over time.
\u2022 To focus on a clearly under-served area, i.e. providing medical services to under-privileged communities at affordable prices.<\/p>

The DMC opened its doors to patients on January 16, 2008.<\/p>

\u2022 At 4pm, on that day, our first patient, Ms Pathani Bibi, arrived for a sugar test. We received only two patients on that day.
\u2022 On November 11, 2008, Mr Ghulam Badar, became our 5000th patient.
\u2022 Since 2008, over 100,000 patients have been treated at the MOVE DMC.<\/p>

The DMC is located on a 4,800 sq.yards plot in North Nazimabad, Karachi. This piece of land and associated buildings have been made available by Anjuman-e-Ahbab Society at no cost to MOVE.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
